Earth Day x Easter Egg Hunt

We will be hosting a family-oriented pop-up event on April 27 at 1-3pm in Dewitt Clinton Park to celebrate Earth Day and Easter. We will have waste sorting games, tree ID puzzles, nature journaling, face painting and some light snacks and drinks. At the end of the event, there will be a BYO-Egg Hunt.

To participate, families should bring 10 or more pre-filled eggs for each participating child. Please register at the table. Each child will be asked to complete one “Earth Day Challenge”. Upon completion of the challenge, the child will be given a wristband to enter the Easter Egg Hunt. Grownups will help hide the eggs before the hunt begins.

This event is free and open to public. Light snacks and drinks will be available.

Street Tree Habitat Project

  • 456 W 52nd St New York, NY, 10019 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We have been selected to take part in the Street Tree Habitat Project by NYC Parks. The intent of the program is to gather data on the habitats and survival of native plant species in urban landscapes to improve strategies for supporting biodiversity within NYC. There are 5-6 groups joining in Council Districts 3 and 6 and we are one of them! We will be receiving plant materials in the first week of April, and we will be installing them in 4 tree beds on 53rd Street near PS 111. We are looking for 10-15 volunteers to help with trash pick up, prepare plant beds and install plant materials. You can also help us with ongoing data collection and field observation, and performing other routine maintenance tasks such as watering and weeding.

Please email us for more information.
