Street Tree Habitat Project

  • 456 W 52nd St New York, NY, 10019 United States (map)

We have been selected to take part in the Street Tree Habitat Project by NYC Parks. The intent of the program is to gather data on the habitats and survival of native plant species in urban landscapes to improve strategies for supporting biodiversity within NYC. There are 5-6 groups joining in Council Districts 3 and 6 and we are one of them! We will be receiving plant materials in the first week of April, and we will be installing them in 4 tree beds on 53rd Street near PS 111. We are looking for 10-15 volunteers to help with trash pick up, prepare plant beds and install plant materials. You can also help us with ongoing data collection and field observation, and performing other routine maintenance tasks such as watering and weeding.

Please email us for more information.
